Non-profit of Importance

Sacred Cycle’s mission is to empower survivors of sexual abuse and assault through therapy and mountain biking, creating a sacred cycle of recovery, personal development, and community impact. Sacred Cycle was founded as a 501 c 3 corporation by Heather Russell. As a survivor herself and an avid mountain biker she was inspired to share her healing journey. After completing her training in transpersonal counseling she developed Sacred Cycle to spread the mission of healing through cycling with the goal of creating an environment that helps heal the emotional, psychological, and physical stress that manifests after sexual abuse and assault. Biking provides an opportunity to be present, allowing clients to tune in to their bodies, and Nature provides the space for processing.

In order to expand its services, Sacred Cycle is seeking volunteers: coaches, therapists, tech savvy social media promoters and fundraisers. Volunteers can apply here. With several successful mountain bike skills clinics in the past, Sacred Cycle is planning to host more in 2020; including group and one-on-one activities. Founder, and previous executive director, Heather Russell, has passed the torch to Clare Hefferren; selected for her enthusiasm and experience. Please visit the website for more information.
